Access Control List

Access Control List

Access control list gives you ability to control the permission per object in the system, suite have a hierarchical order of entities that the user have the ability to set permission to a parent entity and the child entities will inherit that permission, here is an overview of the permissions hierarchy:

System Permission

  • Workspace

  • Input Server

    • Report
      • Design
    • Company
  • DB Connection

    • DB Schema

By default, all entities inherit the system permissions and keep being updated each time the system permission is updated, except the Input Server, when it is created, it inherits the system permissions but then it will have a copy and can be changed independently afterward.

Others like DB Connection always inherit from the system permissions, unless you choose to have their own permission.

To view all the uninherited entities including the Input Servers and system permissions, go to: System Settings -> Access Control List, from there you can edit all the permissions for each entity.
